Movie review – Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

April 13, 2012

Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

No real update to offer since this past weekend, so I thought I might offer a movie review instead.  My offering to you today is… Tucker and Dale vs. Evil.

I heard a lot about this movie before watching it, so my expectations were pretty high going into it.  I can honestly say that the movie delivered, both in laughs and death scenes that you might expect from a cheesy 80’s style slasher flick.  It’s also a good example of what can happen when you jump to conclusions.

Tucker and Dale are two lovable guys on their way to  fix up a vacation home they recently purchased and run across a group of college students who have watched one too many killer hillbilly movies.  After saving one of the girls from drowning, the rest of the students think the boys are kidnapping their friend to kill her.  Each rescue attempt ends in  some form of gruesome and humorous death.  Right from the beginning, you can see who comes across as crazy and who doesn’t instead of keeping you guessing throughout the movie.

If I have any complaint about the movie, it is that some parts are a little too predictable.  Aside from that, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of comedic horror or the slasher flicks of the 1980’s.  It is not overly gruesome, but has just enough to make the movie a fun one.

My rating of the movie is a 4 out of 5.  You can check it out at your local video store or on Netflix Instant.  If you try it, I’m very sure you’ll enjoy it as well.
