Wednesday Podcast — Horror Addicts

May 18, 2012

A horror addict is defined as a person who is physiologically or psychologically dependent on items depicting macabre events.  It doesn’t matter how the terror is delivered, via movie, story, music, or television, a horror addict will be drawn to it like a moth to a flame.  With everything that’s available, how does someone wade through it all and pull out the best from the past and present?  Thankfully, there is a podcast that.

Hosted by Emerian Rich, the Horror Addicts podcast is a horror variety show that offers information on scary locations, horror themed conventions, movie reviews, and book revivals.  It is also the home of the satirical Gothhaus, gothic style music, and original stories from a different author every episode.  It is also the home of the Wicked Women Writer’s and Masters of Macabre writing contests.  All of these are just some of what the show offers bi-monthly.

From the first moment I listened to the podcast I became hooked on it.  Just the amount of information it offers on books and movies alone makes it a good listen, but it’s the original content takes it up an extra notch.   Every episode is chock full of horror filled badness from both past and present.  This podcast has become much more than just something to listen to, it has opened up a community of like-minded,  horror loving people.  My rating is a 4.5 out of 5.

You can check out and subscribe to this podcast through the Itunes store or by going to the Horror Addicts  website.
