Podcast Spotlight – 19 Nocturne Boulevard

November 7, 2012

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

It has been a while, but here is the latest installment of the Podcast Spotlight.  Today, light shines upon 19 Nocturne Boulevard, a full cast audio drama created by the multi-talented Julie Hoverson.

I have been a fan of 19 Nocturne since first hearing an episode as part of a Halloween collection a couple of years ago and became hooked  right away.  It boasts adaptations of stories from the likes of H.P. Lovecraft and Saki as well as original scripted works written by Julie herself, such as the Deadeye Kid, Fatal Girl, and Bingo the Birthday Clown.  The episodes are all very well performed and the sound quality is top-notch.  The podcast feed also offers episodes of the zombie audio series 1:18 Migration, the science fiction series Warp’d, and an audio blog offering tips and advice on script writing, audio recording, and audio editing.

One of my favorite episodes is a zombified version of the classic Christmas tale, “The Gift of the Magi”, aptly titled “The Gift of the Zombi”.  Then there is “The Rookie”, a futuristic story where  serial killers are  celebrities, complete with action figures and Saturday morning cartoons based on them.  My third favorite is DraculaDotCom, the story of Dracula as told by using e-mail and social media.  There are so many more great episodes, too many to list here, that it will keep you busy with great content for a very long time.

You can listen to episodes at the 19 Nocturne Boulevard website or subscribe via Itunes or your favorite podcast catching software.  You will be glad you subscribed.

And remember… Why so serious?
